Key Features of Vacuum Cleaners

By Victor Thomas

A vacuum cleaner is a very useful and easy device to clean the house. The latest models also help in cleaning upholstery, car interiors, wall hangings etc. There are few features or characteristics of vacuum cleaners that have to be checked before buying them.

Some cleaners come with a collecting bag and some without a bag. The bagless cleaners are expensive when compared to the former, due to the technology used in it. But it is compensated on the money that is spent buying collection bags for the bag type cleaners. Bagged models are more hygienic, as the bags are use and throw types and so the dust and mites do not get accumulated in the bag. If the user has allergy or similar health related problems, then it is better to go for the bagged models. The Vax V002 Mojo II Bagged Vacuum Cleaner is an example of bagged vacuum cleaners and the Miele CAT & DOG TT 5000 Vacuum Cleaner is an example of the bagless vacuum cleaner.

The next factor is the power required by the cleaner to clean. The rule is that the higher the wattage, the more efficient and powerful the motor would be. It is better to have a cleaner of 1300 - 1400W power motor. The Vax 6140 Pet Vax vacuum cleaner has a power capacity of 1300W.

Filtration is also another cause of concern. This is of great importance for the asthma and allergy prone users. There are basically three types of filtration, the standard, S-class / HEPA and the lifetime filtration process. The standard one is found in the less expensive models and is not suited for the allergy prone. If the cleaner employs this technique, then it must contain atleast more than one filtration process, to make it a little efficient. The Hoover TC3827 Vacuum Cleaner is an example of standard filtration technique used.

The S-class is the second type in which the air that remains after the vacuum cleaning is clean and contains very less or zero allergens. This is the best for the allergy prone. The Seba X1 Vacuum cleaner is an example. The first two processes of filtration require changing of the filters in regular intervals. Lifetime filters, the third type, do not require changing of filters. The incoming air is filtered all through the life of the cleaner. The Dyson DC19 Cylinder Vacuum cleaner is an example of having lifetime filtration procedure. Some S-class cleaners come with lifetime filters, but are expensive.

In short, whichever type of vacuum cleaners used, they are always useful and easy to use. A definite welcome and need, more than a luxury, in each and every household!

What Is The Best Vacuum For Pet Hair?

By Andrea Simpson

With more and more of us owning pets it has become increasingly important for us to clean up effectively after we have let out beloved pets roam all round the house and lay about on our carpets and furniture. This means more work for the person clearing the house as cleaning up all the hairs and possible pet mites is no small task. What is needed is a pet specific cleaner and with so many different cleaners on the market today we need to find out what is the best vacuum for pet hair.

There are so many cleaners on the market today and manufactueres have listened to their customers and now provide a whole host of attachments and even ones specific to cleaning pet hair off of carpets and furniture.

The main rule of thumb is that upright cleaners tend to be a lot more effective than cylinders at cleaning pet hair. They have motorised brush heads that are better at prising fur away from carpet fibres. Cylinders don't usually have motorised heads but some models have turbobrushes or electrobrushes, which are designed specifically for this task.

So which model vacuum cleaners should you be looking at?

Dyson DC14 & DC15 Animal - Has a mini turbine head for picking up pet hair

DCO8 Telescope Wrap Animal - Has a mini turbine head for picking up pet hair

Eureka Boss 4D - Has a turbo brush attachment for cleaning pet hairs

Roomba Discovery - Deep clean mode does all the hard work for you

Miele TT5000 Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner, Cat & Dog

All of the above model vacuum cleaners have had very good customer reviews and should make your short list. However the two cleaners that keeps coming up at the top of reviews is the Miele Cat & Dog and the Dyson Animal options on thri DC14, DC15 & DC08 models.

Looks like both Dyson and Miele have really listened to their customers and come up with cleaners whose main purpose is to help clean stubborn pet hairs while at the same time offering a great all round vaccum cleaner.

The Miele has not one but 'two' turbo brushes which makes the job of pet hair removal a simple task while the Dyson Animals have a mini turbine head that cleans pet hair and dirt from confined spaces such as upholstery, stairs and car.

Whatever cleaner you decide upon make sure and do your homework and find reviews of all the cleaners on your list. We have narrowed down your search to 2 great cleaners so make sure and check these out first.

By Matt Peters

All vacuum cleaner brands will tell you that they have the best technology for use at your home and office. But the decision to buy the best home vacuum cleaners is entirely left up to you. With the many offers on the market from such brands as Dyson, Miele, Electrolux, and Sebo, it’s no wonder why many people can’t seem to find the perfect vacuum. Here is a list of some of the best home vacuum cleaners that you can choose from.

Miele Capricorn S5980 Luna Silver Canister

Anything with the Miele trademark logo is known to be of quality and this is no different when it comes to their brand of vacuum cleaners. Their latest canister vacuum sports larger fiber bags than their previous vacuums. This means that it is more powerful and one won’t have to change the bags as often as in older models. Fingertip controls allow for easier use and it also comes with an extra long cord. The keywords to describe this German inspiration: noise reduction. It’s quiet, sleek and gets the job done.

Electrolux Oxygen3 HEPA Canister

For any home that has bare floors, wall to wall carpeting, or both, this is the canister vacuum to have. Canister vacuums are fast becoming a good replacement for the gigantic uprights and the Oxygen3 shows why in both form and function. This model includes a new electronic low profile nozzle for bare floors, a full size powerhead for carpets and for cleaning on almost all surfaces. Fairly priced, this is one of the best home vacuum cleaners out in the market.

Bosch Premium Electro Duo HEPA

This vacuum cleaner offers it all for the house: it performs well, maneuvers well, and it has a filtration system that is best in its class. A full-sized canister, this vacuum is known for its cleaning power. It’s HEPA and carbon filtration system allows for cleaner air and it comes with a 3 in 1 tool that makes this one of the friendliest vacuums to use at home. It is sold in standard, deluxe and supreme packages; each of the packages offers options that are best for your home.

Sebo Air Belt K3

The K3 series canister vacuums from Sebo offer the best in quality and durability. A tough looking home device, the K3 is missing features that were found in the Sebo C series. However, the K series are the lightest vacuums that offer powerful cleaning abilities couples with noise-free operation. Sold with specialized on-board tools and a first class filtering system, this is one canister vacuum that should not be underestimated.

Canister vacuums have become the next upright vacuums. This simply means that the canister vacuum is quickly becoming the best home vacuum cleaners because they are light, portable. The bonus feature is found in the different configurations that the hose takes to be able to get dirt in the tightest of spaces. So for the best in home vacuums that are offered with fair prices, it is definitely recommended to make the change to canister vacuums.

Miele Vacuum Review - Happy Cats, Happy Customers

By Tim Bock

Customers respond positively to the Miele S511 Cat and Dog Plus. Satisfied customers who had purchased the S511 Cat and Dog Plus noted that it comes equipped with a HEPA filter, without any need to upgrade from a conventional filter. Some note that they approached the Miele with some hesitation; one noted, "of course I didn't believe their claims, few vacuum cleaners have managed to pick up dog hairs in my experience. I thought it must be a gimmick." When they purchased the appliance, however, they were quite impressed.

"We switched it on for the first time and our faces beamed.... It felt strong and powerful and made our other upright vacuum seem like a toy." Another noted simply, "it deals with all manner of fluff and dirt... I have never yet had to poke down the tube with a skewer to free some blockage-it just seems to deal with everything I throw at it.'

They appreciate its design features; that the vacuum canister is low to the floor and moves easily; that the crevice nozzle, upholstery tool and dusting brush tow away neatly; and that the vacuum is space efficient. _As one customer noted, "the vacuum is very nicely designed, with features that just make sense as you use it. Customers' complaints are that the vacuum cleaner bags are expensive and cannot be reused. One owner wrote "the suction is so good (or my house is so dirty!) that I do have to replace the bags quite frequently." Another noted that this model "doesn't like being pulled along."

Cold Steel Black Sable Folding Knife Review

By Santiago Gutierrez

What do you get when you combine the Japanese tanto with a middle-eastern style Talwar? The Cold Steel Black Sable. Take a look at the unique blade and you will discover that the Black Sable has the best of both worlds; the primary and secondary grind of a tanto with the curvature of a talwar.

I was lucky enough to get a great price on the Black Sable and here are my honest opinions:

What I like about the knife:

1. Although the Black Sable is beautiful enough to put on display or keep locked up, it Is also extremely practical for everyday utility use. Its 4 inch blade makes it legal to carry with you almost anywhere, and the ambidextrous stainless steel pocket clip allows for easy right or left handed carry.

2. Crafted from the hottest steel on the market today, VG-1 San Mai III, the Black Sable gives you a compromise between edge retention and flexibility.

With an inner core of VG-1 stainless and outer layers of 400 stainless, your Black Sable will be hair shaving sharp right out of the box and far less prone to rust than a typical high carbon blade.

3. Cold Steel uses polished micarta for the pistol-grip style handle. The handle feels very smooth in your hand, but is still rugged enough to handle the toughest situations.

4. When you open the knife, you will notice the snapping sound that the Black Sable makes when it goes into the locking position. It becomes obvious that the lock is amazingly strong and has no movement (up and down or side to side).

5. To wrap up a meticulously made knife, the bolsters are made with titanium. This feature solidifies the Black Sable as a custom-style knife at a very reasonable price.

What I didn't like:

1. I wish that Cold Steel would offer the same design at a lower price. Other than that, I don't have anything negative to say about the Black Sable.

Overall:

Everything about the Cold Steel Black Sable is high class. The steel, handle, bolsters, pocket clip and "custom series" carrying case are made to last a lifetime. Get a Black Sable, you'll be happy that you did!

You can get a Cold Steel Black Sable for $240 or less at my website http://www.KnifeSell.com

Miele Bags - For The Sake Of Your Health

By Tim Bock

Manufactured in Germany, asthma and allergy sufferers welcome Miele FJM vacuum cleaner systems. Miele vacuum cleaner bags fit a series of Miele-manufactured vacuum cleaners; other manufacturers also retail less expensive bags that fit the Miele line of vacuum cleaners. The F/J/M performance cloth vacuum bags fit state-of-the-art Miele canister 300-600 series vacuum cleaners; the Miele Galaxy series S4210 canister vacuum cleaners; and the all new Miele S5 galaxy series.

The Miele F/J/M bags are made of a double layer of soft material, and are super-easy to install and remove. Original Miele canister vacuum bags are packaged in groups of five, with a motor filter and an air cleaner filter (all retail at prices between thirteen and forty dollars). All Miele filters are HEPA (high efficiency particulate air) filters designed eliminate practically all ragweed particles, dust mites and common grass pollen as the air passes through the vacuum cleaner, which means it leaves your house much cleaner than low-end vacuum cleaners. Users report that, even though the F/J/M series vacuum cleaner bag looks small when you first install it, it can hold a lot.

Miele in Germany manufactures genuine Miele bags; other manufacturers of micro filter bags that fit Miele-manufactured vacuum cleaners include DVC (three for ten dollars) and EnviroCare Technologies (ten with four filters for fifteen dollars). The Miele allergen performance bags have advanced fiber filtration, and will trap up to 100% of pet dander, mold, pollen, and dust. The synthetic fiber media the bags are made of will not support mold, fungal, or bacteria growth, and its three-ply thickness is far stronger and less likely to break than paper.

Miele Vacuum Cleaners - German Technology At Its Best

By Tomaz Mencinger

Manufactured by a company rooted in the German tradition of excellence in engineering and electronics goods, Miele vacuum cleaners are one of the best quality vacuum cleaners available in the market today. They are backed by 80 years of experience in manufacturing vacuum cleaners. The company's philosophy of "forever better" has led to the emergence of a wide range of state-of-the-art vacuum cleaners.

The range of Miele vacuum cleaners come in two basic categories: Canisters and Uprights. In the Miele canisters category are: (i) The S4 Galaxy Lightweight Series; (ii) The S5 Series; (iii) The S500 Deluxe Midsize Series; (iv) The S514 Direct Connect Series, the world's first-ever certified vacuum cleaners; (v) The S300 Midsize Series; and (vi) S200 Compact Series. In the Miele uprights category are: (i) The S180 Powerhouse Series and (ii) The S160 Universal Series.

The various features that lend Miele vacuum cleaners their unique character and quality, in addition to superb, stylish looks, are:

Powerful Performance

Miele vacuum cleaners are a class apart when it comes to suction power. Employing a 1200-Watt motor in combination with a smooth completely sealed system, Miele vacuum canisters can achieve airflows as high as 141 cubic feet per minute. This means that the suction power is strong enough to suck in all the dust and debris from the floor/air and make cleaning efficient. The speed control allows you to reduce the suction power while cleaning delicate surfaces like lampshades, fabric window blinds and curtains.

Advanced Filtration System

Miele vacuum cleaners come with a standard double-layer dustbag, a pre-motor filter, and an advanced post-motor exhaust filter. Miele vacuums offer three exhaust filter options. Super Air Clean filter, designed for normal use, is made of a multi-ply material that is electrostatically charged to attract the dust particles. It retains 99.95% of particles down to 0.5-micron size and 94% of particles down to 0.3-micron size. This filter lasts as long as 5 dustbags and is included free of charge with each box of Miele dustbags.

If you house pets and want to rid the house of strong odors and allergens, then go in for models with Active Air Clean filter having odor-absorbing charcoal pellets. This filter has a life of 12 months or 50 hours of vacuuming. Models with Active HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) filter are ideal for those who are prone to severe dust allergies, as these filters are capable of trapping 99% of particles of size as small as 0.3 micron.

Miele filters not only collect dust and debris but also ensure that microscopic allergens have no chance to escape because of the rubber seal throughout the system, giving highest quality indoors air.

Endurance

In addition to the powerful motor and highly effective sealed system filtration, Miele vacuum cleaners are designed with whole lot of other features to make cleaning more convenient. Their castor wheels capable of spinning 360o make Miele vacuum cleaners responsive to user's slightest command. Their handsome body is made of durable ABS plastic, and is protected from external damage by a bumper strip. The crush-proof hoses can rotate by 360o without chinking. The telescopic stainless steel wand can be easily adjusted to suit any user.

To sum up, Miele vacuum cleaners offer everything an advanced vacuum cleaner should offer and much more to make your floor care experience enjoyable.
