Tips For Vivanco Vacuum Cleaner Bags

By Dean Iggo

The accessory industry for home cleaning supplies is a multi-million dollar a year industry. The same company that brought you Vivanco vacuum cleaner bags also can help guide to how to buy your accessories for your vacuum cleaner, whether it be bags or other parts.

Often times, people have trouble when it comes to buying consumables for their vacuums because it is not an every day purchase. Vivanco specializes in accessory convenience and offers a few tips on how to buy your accessories and vacuum consumables. Here are the hottest of those tips.

Try to Come Prepared

Before you head to the store to the Vivanco vacuum cleaner bags display or any other consumable section, make sure you have the necessary information. If at all possible, bring the original reference number for your vacuum cleaner, know the name of the brand, the model name, and possibly even the sku number for it. If you know all of these things, a store associate should be able to help you easily find what you need.

If You Don’t Know the Brand, Find Out

If you don’t know what your vacuum name or sku is, then go look. Go to the vacuum displays at the store and look for your model. After all, you know what your vacuum looks like. Once you find it, you can ask an associate to point you to the right bag or part.

Go to the Right Stores

Any store worth its salt should make your accessory or consumable purchase easy. For instance, Vivanco vacuum cleaner bags are displayed so that you can easily tell which bag goes to what vacuum cleaners. There should be some easily attainable compatibility information, cross reference charts and a user friendly purchase area. If you aren’t getting those things, then you may want to reconsider the store you are shopping in.

Overall, a purchase of vacuum parts or bags should not be difficult. It is not something you buy everyday, so you may be a bit uneasy, but the right store should make your purchase simple. Look for good cross reference information, bring as much information as you can with you, and don’t be afraid to go find your vacuum to make sure you have everything right. Do those things and your consumable purchases will be a breeze.

Why Buy A Dyson Vacuum Cleaner?

By Tim Bock

When researching the next vacuum cleaner you will buy, you can’t help but notice all the wonderful reviews of Dyson vacuum cleaners. The durability, the quality, the unsurpassed cleaning power—Dyson’s vacuums are some of the very best that money can buy. However, as the old saying goes, “You get what you pay for.” Superior quality and cleaning power are not cheap. So why spend several hundred dollars on a Dyson vacuum cleaner when there are so many vacuums that are much cheaper? Is the Dyson really that much better?

The short answer is—yes! Dyson vacuums produce a powerful suction that cleans the carpets all the way down to the backing. Unlike inexpensive vacuums that only pick up the surface dirt, Dyson vacuums remove the deep-down, hidden grit that settles between the carpet threads deep in the pile. This grit, if left behind, slowly grinds away at the carpet threads, reducing the life of the carpet. Ordinary vacuums simply cannot remove this deeply ingrained grit, but Dyson vacuum cleaners can do it with ease. You won’t believe it!

Also, Dyson vacuum cleaners are durable. Made of a plastic so strong it is called “Liquid Steel,” Dyson vacuums are constructed with a long life of service in mind. That cheap vacuum might seem a better deal now, but will it still be around in ten years? Will it still have the same suction next year as it has today? With Dyson, the answers to those questions are—yes!

Comments From Your Vacuum Cleaner

By Kristen Easton

I know, it’s disgusting to think about. But that’s what I was born to do and I’m proud of my accomplishments. I am your vacuum cleaner.

If they made quality TV shows about home appliances I’d be featured on Dirty Jobs. I get to make a lot of noise and eat a lot of different stuff, but most of that stuff is so gross you wouldn’t feed it to your worst enemy. Yet you give it to me and expect me to be happy about it. Good thing for you its built into my circuits to take your gross dirt and fuzz and really chew it up.

Sometimes I get sick and cough out some residual dust. But we all take ill sometimes, so just give me a good cleaning and a little medical repair and I’ll probably be back on my rollers in no time.

I carry around a lot of heavy baggage. “The Old Bag” hangs on my back all the time keeping my hard earned dust piles off your floor. You wouldn’t believe some of the stuff in there. Missing a wedding ring? Why not try checking the old bag first? There’s probably money in there, too.

Hollywood tried to have a human emulate me once. Mrs. Conehead seemed to be doing a good job sucking up the dirt with that vacuum hose, but she did a horrible job of containing the dust. She spit out the dirt and hair with a subtle cough that nearly made audiences around the world throw up in disgust. Listen, if you’re going to try and do my job for me, at least do all of it right. Keep that stuff to yourself or discard it in the proper manner.

I’m just your average vacuum, but I’ve got a powerful older brother named Dyson and a pet vac named Roomba. It fascinates me that Roomba can do a pretty decent job of cleaning your floors without even need assistance from you. Just let him go and he does his own thing completely without supervision (ok well maybe a little supervision). Dyson does a good job, too, but he certainly has a lot more power than I do. He has a powerful suction that I wouldn’t recommend getting in front of. He’ll suck the wind right out of your sails.

I almost forgot my younger brother Oreck. He’s a tiny little thing but has a powerhouse suction, too. I’ve seen him hold a bowling ball in his mouth (younger brothers will do crazy things).

Speaking on behalf of vacuums everywhere, we would like to request that you pay us some attention, quit sticking us in those dark stinky closets and get us a checkup once in a while to keep our parts working right. Give us fresh bags, praise us for preventing you from having to pick up the crud by hand and don’t complain when we make a little noise once in a while. We’ve heard you be louder on football weekends with your buddies. Sheesh.

When Should I Change my Vacuum Cleaner Bag?

By Kevin Haynes

We're often asked: How often should I change my vacuum cleaner bag?

The answer - there is no set answer. But there are some easy guidelines to follow.

First, understand that vacuum cleaners work by moving air through the machine, and that movement is air is what picks up the dirt. When that air movement is restricted - such as from a nearly full vacuum bag - your performance suffers greatly.

As a rule of thumb, plan on changing the vacuum bag once a month. However, you may need to change it sooner if one of the following conditions exist in your home:

(1) Your home is over 2000 Square foot and has large areas of wall to wall carpet.

(2) You have installed new carpeting in your home recently, which will 'shed' for many months.

(3) You have pets such as cats or dogs, which will continue to 'shed' for all of eternity.

Here's how to get a handle on the situation yourself:

Open the compartment and check the bag the next few times you vacuum - when it's 50 to 60 percent full, it's time to change the vacuum bag. After doing this for a while, you'll begin to 'get a feel' for how often to change vacuum bags based on YOUR individual home and needs.

The Vacuum Cleaner - An Essential Home Appliance

By Paul MacIver

A vacuum cleaner is an essential piece of equipment. It would be very difficult to cope without one. People prefer domestic vacuum cleaners for carpeted floors in their homes.

The vacuum cleaner is an ingenious device. It has an air pump that creates a partial vacuum to suck up dust and dirt. It collects the dirt by a filtering system or a cyclone for later disposal.

Types of Vacuum Cleaners:

On the basis of their configurations, there are various types of vacuum cleaners. The following are some well-known vacuum cleaners.

• Bagless Vacuum: A bagless vacuum, as the name suggests, doesn’t have a bag. It collects the dust in a compartment which is easily emptied. This saves people from the headache of dealing with messy vacuum cleaner bags.

• Upright Vacuum Cleaner: An upright vacuum has the pump mounted directly above the suction intake, with the bag mounted on the handle that rises to about waist height. The upright vacuum designs usually employ mechanical beaters, often rotating brushes, to help unsettle dust to be vacuumed up. A belt attached to the vacuum motor drives these beaters.

• Canister Vacuum Cleaner: A canister vacuum has the motor and bag in a separate canister (cylinder) unit (usually mounted on wheels) connected to the vacuum head by a flexible hose. Although upright units have been tested as more effective (mainly because of the beaters), the lighter, more maneuverable heads of canister models are popular. Some canister vacuums in the market have power heads that contain the same sort of mechanical beaters as in upright units, although such beaters are driven by a separate electric motor.

• Backpack Vacuum: A Backpack vacuum is a major tool for commercial cleaning. It allows the user to move rapidly about a large area. It’s essentially a canister vacuum cleaner, except that straps are used to carry the canister unit on the user's back.

• Built-in or central vacuum cleaner: A built-in vacuum or central vacuum cleaner has the suction motor and bag based in a central location in the building, and provides vacuum inlets at strategic places throughout the building. Only the hose and pickup head need to be carried from room to room; and the hose is commonly 8 m (25 ft) long, allowing a large range of movement without changing vacuum inlets. A plastic piping connects the vacuum outlets to the central unit. The vacuum head may either be un-powered or have beaters operated by an electric motor or air-driven motor. The dirt bag in a central vacuum system is usually so large that emptying or changing needs to be done less often, perhaps once per year.

• Robotic vacuum cleaner: A robotic vacuum moves around the room, cleaning automatically. A battery powers a robotic vacuum.

• Small hand-held vacuum cleaner: A small hand-held vacuum is either battery-operated or electric. It is popular for cleaning up smaller spills.

• Wet vacs or wet/dry vacuums: Wet vacs or wet/dry vacuums can be used to clean up liquid spills.

Vacuums are very beneficial tools against dust particles. They are particularly helpful for people suffering from various allergies due to dirt. Vacuum buyers should go through some reviews before buying, to ensure they choose a vacuum that will best suit their needs.

Maytag Appliance History

By James S Thompson

Parsons Band Cutter and Self Feeder Company was the beginning of the maytag appliances business and produced farm equipment. This came about in 1893 when Frederick Maytag along with both his sisters husbands went into business with farm implement designer George Parsons after settling in Iowa. Together by 1904 they built the company into the largest thresher and feeder machine manufacturer in the world by introducing safety features into their designs as farm accidents were very common. The most famous farming machines of the time such as the Ruth, Success Corn Husker and shredder were al invented by this company.

The pastime washing machine was introduced in 1907 mainly at first just to give more work at certain periods as the farming implement trade was seasonal and was a wooden hand operated device with an option for wind or tractor power to be utilised through a pulley. These proved popular and an electric powered version was introduced in 1911 followed by a production in 1915 of a small generator to power washers in rural areas. By 1920 maytag was a large company with its own name producing household appliances and making the only aluminium washer tub that proved far superior to the wooden version. The company developed new techniques such as the vaned agitator and started making other appliances such as irons and in 1925 was recognised on the new york stock exchange.

Maytag continued to grow under the direction of Frederick's son Elmer even making profits during the depression, Elmer passed away in 1940 and his son Frederick took charge at a young age of only 29 years. During the second world war washing machine production stopped and the company designed and made products for aircraft such as the Super Fortress, Flying Fortress, Marauder, and the Mustang plus others. After the war washing machine production was started again with another plant for automatic machines also being opened in 1948. Although military equipment was produced again during the korean war this time it was done without the household appliances production being halted.

Expansion and the introduction of new products such as automatic dryers, coin slide laundry machines for commercial use, dishwashers, stoves and fridges continued with Maytag a well established household name. A series of television commercials was begun in 1954 with the well known Maytag Repairman appearing for the first time in 1967 played originally by Jesse White and continued through the decades to follow as the main advertising character for Maytag.

Starting in the early eighties companies were continually being sold and merged with maytag acquiring a few along the way until in march 2006 the whirlpool corporation acquired maytag. This did not spell the end of maytag's machine production as both brands are still producing separate ranges of appliances under their original names its simply that the owners of the companies are the same. A full range of front and top loading washing machines and dryers are still available from maytag with the Neptune and centennial ranges very popular. These can be bought as matching pairs or combined washer dryer units. The vertical stack style machines are also still in production and there are no plans to stop producing any of maytags household appliances so spares and repairs will not be a problem.

The Best Kindle Covers For My Kindle 2

I took the plunge! I have pre-ordered mine new Kindle 2 two weeks ago. My new expected Kindle arrives on Tuesday February 24th (according to the shipping tracker). I am already convinced I want now to find the best cover for it. There are several places, also there is a fairly good discussion of the different kinds of covers available, but I am not sure about what's the best.

Now is available a wide variety of Kindle 2 accessories, including new covers from Cole Haan, Patagonia, M-edge, GelaSkins, Vangoddy, Belkin and more.

For example: Cole Haan has many Hand-Woven Leather Covers for Kindle 2 that are indeed stylish, although they are rather pricey. This custom covers, made exclusively in India of hand-stained New Zealand leather.

I should say that they are not for those who would rather have something mass produced in China or for those who don't care to stand out from the crowd or draw attention. They are absolutely beautiful! I figured many might start ordering it. There is a strong chance that you will be quite unique as it is are rather pricey. For those of you who don't know, Cole Haan is amazing and is actually worth the price you would pay for their stuff. I have one of their purses and about 5 pairs of shoes. The purse is the softest thing I've ever touched and the shoes make my feet sing. Seriously, their leather is like butter.

Patagonia Book Case for Kindle 2, is nice, but I think it needs handle, like a wristlet purse. The Case is designed with padded, internal compartments to keep the Kindle 2, the power adapter, the clip light, and any additional accessories tangle-free. Self-locking zipper on a front pocket ensure that contents stay in. Most probably it's may be wonderful for protecting my Kindle 2. But, I still think..

Belkin Neoprene Case and Nomadic Polyvinyl Messenger Bag, are is other are uniquely designed products for Kindle 2.

Nomadic Compact Stylish Polyvinyl Bag is a carrying bag, made as a pouch style opening with drawstring for an easy access and 5 multi-use interior pockets covered by a secure velcro closure. It is Ultra-light and Slim so I can carry it wherever I go.

Belkin case made of high-grade leather and neoprene fabric in stylish black color. I think that is a wonderful case, but there has to be a better cover than the Belkin for a wonderful product like my new Kindle 2.

By Nollen Fleeth

Next, M-Edge Kindle covers they look lovely. I have an older M-Edge case for my kindle 1 and I do wish they'd change the closure. I wish the closure was magnetic instead of just a flap - like some of the journals you can buy in bookstores.

The new M-Edge luxurious leather Jackets allows access to all ports and buttons on the Kindle 2 and are is compatible with the M-Edge e-Luminator booklight. It has a solid front and back construction and can be used as a bookstand for upright, hands-free reading. My friend purchased the red case and I have to say it is VERY nice. It is a really nice soft buttery leather, the smell of leather alone is wonderful, the feel of it in my hands is sensual - I like it a lot, but I would prefer other brand in leather.

Yes, I want to buy a new cover for my Kindle - 2, but I am still not sure about what's the best cover for me.
I am struggling to continue searches.
